Name: Clive Carroll
Style: Steel-string acoustic guitar
English Guitar phenomenon Clive Carroll’s masterful compositions, coupled with his versatility and unparalleled technical virtuosity, have rendered him one of today’s most admired and respected acoustic guitarists.
He graduated with a first class honours degree and composition and guitar from London's Trinity College of Music, by which time he had already written orchestral works and an album's worth of solo acoustic guitar music. A chance meeting with guitar legend John Renbourn provided the catalyst for Clive's debut album, which Renbourn deemed “a milestone in the journey of the steel-string guitar” before taking him on tour to North America and Europe, thus launching Clive's solo performing career.
Now established as one of the world's premier acoustic guitarists, Clive has toured across Europe, Australasia, the Middle East and North America, garnering critical acclaim for his performances – including his own groundbreaking compositions. He has also toured with Tommy Emmanuel, and his celebrity fans include John Williams, Madonna, Guy Ritchie, Michelin award-winning chef Jean-Christophe Novelli and the Sultanate of Oman.
He has written music for television and film, including the film “Driving Lessons” starring Julie Walters and Rupert Grint.
