ABOUT
Multiple prize-winner Alex Roche discovered the classical guitar aged 17. He attended the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, achieving his bachelors’ degree with first class honours and gaining the highest final recital mark of all instrumentalists. He later achieved a first class master's degree at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire.
Alex has had masterclasses with international artists including David Russell, Roberto Aussell, John Mills, Xuefei Yang and Carlo Marchione.
He has performed solo recitals across the UK and abroad, and performed as a concerto soloist, notably with the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Orchestra. In 2018 Alex gave the world premiere performance of a lost work by William Lloyd-Webber (father of Andrew and Julian), attended by Julian Lloyd-Webber. He has also premiered other solo guitar works by international composers.
Alex made his international debut at the Arts Himmelblau Centre in Taipei, Taiwan, and later performed as guest soloist alongside the Ukulele Orchestra of Taiwan at the Pingtung Performing Arts Centre.
